I cannot answer specifically for South Africa, nor do I know the details for
every country; however, I will tell you what I do know based on my experience.
Note that many countries have rules specifying conformity to CISPR 22 and/or
EN60950, but do not require mandatory agency approvals, only compliance.

We manufacture and/or globally market dot matrix, inkjet, and laser printers
(ITE). The approvals and/or marks discussed below are believed to be adequate
to market globally. These are obtained by our Product Safety function, our
suppliers, our marketing representatives, or independent importers, depending
on the country circumstances and regulations.

UL and CSA (for equivalent) for 120V units. Importers obtain NOM for Mexico.
Also FCC and VCCI (voluntary Japan EMC).

Manufacturer's EU Declaration of Conformity for CE marking for 230V units
destined for EU member states. Most other European states accept DoC for EMC
CISPR 22 compliance. CB Certificate/Report obtained to obtain unique country
safety approvals. Unique country approvals:

Australia EMC "c-tick" mark, and safety "t-tick" (adaptors only)
Saudi Arabia SASO certification for safety
Russia "Cpt" safety mark
Poland "B" safety mark
Central/Eastern
Europe Czech Republic (EZU), Hungary (MEEI), Slovenia (SIQ)
   (not sure marks are required)
China CCIB/SACI, Great Wall mark
Singapore PSB, mark applicable

There may well be other country approvals required for ITE, but these are the
only ones with which I am currently familiar. Hope this helps.
