     This is my understanding.
     
     For EMC: Brazil specifies adherence to NB 1388, equivalent to CISPR 22 
     and similar to the FCC's Part 15. Government certification is being 
     studied but is not presently required.
     
     For Safety: Brazil has no mandatory requirements for electrical 
     safety. Under Brazilian law, a self-declaration of conformity to 
     Brazilian standard NB 1215, based on IEC 950 (1st edition) and 
     comparable to UL 1950, will satisfy any electrical safety concern.
