Hello Everyone! I'm looking for techical information on the use of an insulation monitor for a dedicated main which supply a power converter for induction heating. Usually such a converter is supplied via a 3~ line not ground connected and without neutral distribution (a sort of IT). Such line is not a distribution line in the usual meaning, in fact it supply only the converter itself. Dubt arises if it is mandatory to monitor the insulation level or not (safety against direct and indirect contact is not based on the line being floating). Also the commercial insulation monitors I known, fail to work in a reliable manner because of the DC and MF currents present in the converters.
Any suggestion or experience ? Regards Simone Gili Induction snc
