Hi Ron,

My experience has been with telco equipment. But, Safety
and emissions are still at issue within Mexico.

I have been in contact them over the past several months.
My direct experience with them is the following:

1. Safety and emissions are based on CISPR-22 and IEC-950.

2. Mexico does not recognize any other approvals based
on CISPR-22 or IEC-950, i.e. CE markable equipment.

3. All TESTING to be done in Mexico. Nothing is accepted
   outside Mexico.

4. All literature to be in Spanish.

5. All communication should also be in Spanish.

<personal note - they must take time to
translate whatever you send first, then
it is handed off to the appropriate person.>

6. There is a temporary cert that lasts 1 year.

7. When the temp cert is approved, immediately apply
   for the permanent one.

8. Approvals by Mexico are to your representative
that has a Mexican tax ID number, i.e. representative.

9. Anyone that says they can "get you" Mexican approvals
is going to be your middle man. They can't do anything
except shuffle paper between you and Mexico. If you
have equipment that passes anything based on CISPR-22
and IEC-950, obviously you'll pass. Refer to #2 and
   #3 above.

10. As a reference for item #9 above, my quote from them
for BOTH emissions and safety approvals was surprisingly
cheap - like around $2,000.00 US dollars.

11. Oh, one final note, they have a siesta based work ethic.

Regards

Doug
