Received a copy of FCC order no:ET Docket 95-19 today. As you might
know, after June 19,1997, all CPU board and power supplies designed to
be used with personal computers,must been authorized under a
Declaration of Conformity or a grant of certification. FCC has
received three petitions for reconsideration from Information
Technology Industry Council, Hewlett-Packard, and Intel Corp.
As the result, FCC issued this order to extend the effective date from
June 19,1997 to September 17,1997 ( 90 days ) to allow FCC to act on
the petitions and should allow manufacturers sufficient time to
implement any changes to the rules.
