I recently visited the Rardio Research Laboratory (RRL) to discuss the
Korean EMI regulations. The information I was given is as follows :

1. There are no MOU's in operation at present. Korea are working on 1
with Canada.

2. All tests must be carried out at an accredited test site. As of June
97, there were 43 accredited labs, 39 in Korea and 4 belonging to IBM. The
RRL do not recognise other test results.

3. The RRL are not currently accrediting test sites outside Korea until
MOU's are in place.

4. Test have to be carried at the start of the product cycle, once per
year as an ongoing audit, and at the end of the product's life.

Hello there,
Anyone got the latest scoop on Korea requiring EMI testing beginning July
1,
1997 for Information Technology Equipment? Is there any current MOU
program
or accreditation process that is recognizable either through NVLAP or A2LA.
Hoping that no further testing is necessary especially after having already
gone through the FCC/CE bit.
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
SJK
