Hi Jim,

First, I've been unable to access their web site.

It has been my experience in a past life that SABS will accept EMC test data
from any internationally recognized test lab. SABS has also accepted EMC test
data from AUSTEL accredited test labs as well. There are/were a few AUSTEL
accredited test labs in the States.

As you may or may not know, AUSTEL and the SMA have merged into the ACA
(Australian Communications Authority). Since this merger, the ACA describes a
"test house" (or test lab) as meaning "... any laboratory (including a
manufacturer's in-house test facility), other than a recognised testing
authority that is capable of testing to a technical standard made by the ACA
under section 376 of the Act (Telecommunications Act 1997)." I guess that
after
the merger, these AUSTEL accredited EMC test labs had essentially worthless
 AUSTEL accreditations.

As the above test lab requirements are a bit loose and as I have had no
experience with SABS after the merger, does SABS still accept EMC test data
from ACA 'recognized' test labs or have they become more formal by specifying
 only SABS accreditation?

It may be worth asking SABS to see if they still accept data from those AUSTEL
 accredited labs.

 Comments?

 Best regards,
 Ron Pickard

I am looking for a test lab that is approved by SABS for CISPR 22
testing. SABS has indicated that there are no such test labs in the
Unites States, but perhaps some US lab has an affiliation with a lab
     that is certified by SABS?

     Any input would be appreciated.

     Thanks,
