Dear Mr Jensen,

A Recognized/Certified Component is required to be marked with at
least the Recognized/Certified Company's name or tradename or
trademark or file number (if allowed for the specific category) and
model designation. Because of limited space on small
components, manufacturers prefer to use their trademark or file
number in lieu of their company name.

I believe that the CS within a circle is the manufacturer's trademark
(I have seen it before - I think it is Cooper Industries). One way to
find out is if you have the 1998 UL Recognized Component
Directory, to look up in Volume 3 at the index of trademarks. You
should be able to trace the Recognized Compay's name by looking
up the trademark. Then you can go to the category for fuseholders
section (I believe it UL's CCN is IYVZ2) and look up under the
Recognized Company's name to see if the particular fuse you are
using is indeed Recognized.

Of course if you know the Recognized Company's name, go
straight to the fuseholder category or ask the
manufacturer/distributor to provide you with the UL yellow card
index. You will note that there is a "Markings" section in the index.
If the trademark was registered with UL, it will appear in the index.

If I had my UL Recognized Component Directory with me, I could
help you more. I return to work next Tuesday. If you still have
problems, e-mail to let me know.

Best Regards,
