Friends & Colleagues, I am looking for your suggestions and comments (in other words your "help"). As the New (in other words "Novice") Education Committee Chair for IEEE TC 8 (Product Safety), I am working on the Product Safety Workshop for the '99 IEEE International Symposium at Seattle (Aug. 2 thru 6).
The Workshop is geared towards "practical overview" of product safety areas with focus on current areas of interest due to technical complexity or regulatory changes. Having stated the goal above, I am still unsure of the topics that the Safety/EMC engineer as you would like to see at the Workshop. * Some topics bounced around (an "un-safe" activity): Leakage Measurements - Concept & Test methods. Risk Management - a concept to consider beyond Medical & Machinery safety? CB scheme - Experience & lessons learnt. Future Standardization Requirements - time for a one-mark safety world (blueprint) Do these have a universal appeal? Also currently I have two speakers and am looking for two additional speakers. Would you like to speak or do you know somebody who has an interesting topic & would like to present ? Workshop provides a unique opportunity for panel discussion (including insightful comments from within the audience). Traditionally the workshop has been on Friday morning (last day of the symposium). We are evaluating between the Friday morning (Aug. 6th) or Monday (Aug. 2nd) afternoon session (dependent on the schedule availability with the Seattle symposium committee). To summarize (since this message has been going the long windy way) - * What topics would you like to see at the Product Safety Workshop at '99 EMC symposium? * Would you like to present at the workshop or recommend somebody? * Would you prefer the Friday morning (Aug. 6th) or Monday (Aug. 2nd) afternoon session ? Look forward to your suggestions.
