Dear Brian,

You may finf these in the US/Canadian deviations of the wiring 
requirements in UL1950/CSA C22.2 950 which are in an Appendix 
(I believe it's NAA). The requirement is extraxted from the 
NEC/CEC and requires that detachable cables not more than 
3.05m be marked with at least the manufacturer's name, 
tradename or trademark and the manufacturer's cable designation. 
This marking can be anywhere on the cable and does not need to 
be a permanent marking (many of my customers stick a label on 
the connector attached to the cable; others have a label within a 
little PVC tubing around the cable).  Alternately, the specific cable 
can be called out in the manual.

The manufacturer is typically the Listee of the product. If product is 
to multiple Listed under a different company's name, it seems that 
the best route of compliance is to include the cable designation in 
the installation manual.
