First of all, Merry Christmas! We are a manufacturer of large drive systems (Variable Frequency Drives), mainly used in industrial applications/environment. Can anybody tell me if there are any European or North American standards applicable to the power factor of power supplies used in an industrial environment? I know that IEEE519 gives guidelines on harmonics, etc, but I am not aware of any standards or guidelines addressing power factor per se. Can anybody identify or suggest anything applicable originating from a body that can be referenced?
