Hello Group: After reading the responses about the EN 55022 level determination in the past few days, it seems like one point is being missed -
To make the decision between class A or B you need to first determine whether your product falls under the scope of a product family standard (EN 55022 in this case) if it does, then the class A or B decision is made using that product family standard (EN 55022 class A for commercial and class B for residential). If your product does not fall under the scope of EN 55022, then you must use the Generic EN 50081-1 to determine class A or B (class B for light industrial & commercial& residential, not class A!) I just had a customer that failed to do this properly and ended up with a very painful experience in the UK. The important point here is that if you are using class A, in this case, you better be using EN 55022 as a product family standard!.
