There is a proposal for the new directive on Radio and Telecommunications
Equipment (RTTE) which will most probably be adopted. This directive, when
adopted, will repeal article 10.5 of the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC.

Just appearing in the 20 July 1998 OJ, this appears to be a preliminary step to
publishing a new directive that regulates interesting stuff, quoting:

"...on radio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment and the mutual
recognition of their conformity"

See it at
http://europa.eu.int/eur-lex/en/dat/1998/c_227/c_22719980720en00370059.pdf

It makes reference to, among some others, the EMC and LVD directives that we
all know
and love.
