Richard, You did not say what type of testing you would be doing, but in general you can run low power ITE equipment indefinitely with solid state power converters of the type you mention - most equipment rental companies have them, some brands I have rented Elgar, California Instruments, Pacific Power, they all work about the same with controls to vary frequency and output voltage.
They come in different power capacities, usually expressed in kilo-volt-amperes (kVA) - add up all the amps drawn at the operating voltage, multiply by the operating voltage, divide by 1000 and that's your kVA requirement. Your power changer should have capacity that is higher than your maximum anticipated requirement because these beasts can be touchy and pop their circuit breakers when operated near capacity - you could probably get away with 25% over capacity for ITE equipment. Good luck. Best regads, Tom Cokenias EMC Consultant tel 650-726-1263 fax 650-726-1252
