This is my understanding: EU Standards have been modified for the 100 V ac distribution in Japan.
The Harmonic requirements are being addressed by the "Japan Electronic Industry Development Association" (JEIDA). JEIDA has decided to embrace the harmonic requirements and these requirements are mandatory for JEIDA members. If you are a manufacturer in Japan and you are a member of JEIDA, then the Harmonic Requirements are mandatory; other wise the requirements are voluntary. Harmonics are not required for shipment of products into Japan; however, if your customer is a member of JEIDA, there may be a requiements. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Briggs <[email protected]> To: EMC-PSTC <[email protected]> List-Post: [email protected] Date: Wednesday, March 11, 1998 8:45 PM Subject: Japan and Harmonics testing >Can anyone shed some light on mandatory requirements in Japan for >products to meet a current harmonics test (similar to IEC1000-3-2)? > >I keep hearing rumours but cannot find anything to substantiate them. > >Thanks, > >Mark > > > >Mark Briggs >[email protected] >
