Bob,

I don't know if this will help you with your situation but you may want
to check out clause 1.1.3 of EN 61010-1:1993.

It has a note that states similar equipment within the scope of IEC 950
and complying with its requirements are considered suitable for use with
equipment within the scope of part 1. (part 1 of 61010)

Good luck,

Subject: Clear up conflicting issues, Please!

My company builds a product that falls into the ISM category.
Therefore we are supposed to conform to Product Safety EN 61010.
The PS we purchase is CE marked but conforming to EN 60950.

The problem, some experts are telling me, as we have to conform to EN
61010 we can not piggyback off the CE mark on the power supply since
it was Declared to EN 60950. Other advisors are saying we can.

Q1: Can anyone tell me what the show stopping differences if any,
there may between EN 60950 for IT and EN 61010 for ISM?

Q2: Can we as an ISM producer, piggyback off the CE marked Power
Supply even though it is declared under EN 60950 for IT?

Q3: Can International Color Coded AC inlet wiring be used inside all
of our products even if there are some percentage being shipped to
"North American Color code standard" countries? That is if the answer
is yes then why is there a documented color code difference?

     Thanks in advance
