Hi Mat Beware of using EMC surge testers for EN60065. The RC network specified by EN60065 is 1nF/1kohm. I couldn't find any EMC surge tester manufacturer that was willing to supply a unit with this RC network (or if they were, the cost up was ridiculous). I got a quote from a company based in Slovenia -
http://www.testing.si/ and a quote for a custom made unit from a company in Scotland. I can't find the quotes at the moment but I am sure they were a few thousand pounds. In the end I couldn't justify the cost for pre compliance testing, especially as I have never had a product fail this test. If you like, I will dig deeper to find the quotes, please let me know.
