Peter

Before you ask this question, I think you must define for your product the
following:
- Target market (Europe, UK, USA, other countries ?),
- Intended platforms (vehicle, ship-borne, air-borne, space-craft,
man-carried?),
- Supply voltages/frequencies,
- NBC protection requirements,
- Special TEMPEST/HEMP etc., EMC requirements,
- Customers' contract requirements
- etc., etc.

All these issues will affect the design and implementation requirements -
otherwise the target becomes too diverse.

You will also need to look at the "risk-assessment" issues for the
particular market(s) as these may not be within the remit of the specific
standards (if any) for the market and product - but are coming to have a
distinct effect on the equipment that is actually acceptable to the
customer for a particular application (bitter experience!)

Subject: Military standards

Hello group,

I am planning to design a power supply for military use and would like to
know what are the applicable standards concerning military equipment for
both
safety and EMC. Also can someone give me a few examples of military
application where power supply are used?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Peter
