The USA has no official limits for human exposure to low frequency (<3 kHz)
EMF. However, I found it interesting to learn that when investigating the
workplace, OSHA has the authority to invoke the voluntary ACGIH guidelines
for EMF exposure and has been known to do so. Now, I have to wonder what
would happen in Europe. I am aware of only three EMF exposure documents that
might be used: VDE 0848 (Germany), NRPB guidelines (UK), and the new
international ICNIRP guidelines. My question to the group is, what EMF
exposure guidelines do the occupational health authorities in the European
states invoke if they believe an EMF exposure situation exists in the
workplace?
