I am pasting an old response to TREG regarding Turkey. It seems if your
product is CE marked and you have the EMC test report, this should not
present any difficulty. Also realize that just within days, Turkey was
approved to start the approval process to join the EU countries, which could
take some time. Perhaps, to celebrate this good news, they might just wave
your product through if it is CE marked!!!!

The answer for your question is that not necessarily. Currently CE Marking is not a legal requirement while shipping into Turkey. However if the product bears CE Marking it faces a different Customs procedures compared to those with no CE Marking. Under the current customs control regulation any imported product is subject to control at Customs according to the corresponding Turkish Standard by Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) which could be a time and money consuming process depending on the load of TSE Labs. Because when imported product comes to customs samples are taken and sent to TSE labs for testing. During this process the whole imported product bundle keep waiting in the customs. If the product bears CE Marking, the importer of the product in Turkey (your representative) can bring CE Marking Technical file to TSE prior to the import and get the product conformity accordingly without bringing samples from the imported product bundle thus avoid necessary waste of time and money. It is important to note that Turkey is currently in a transition period according to the Customs Union Agreement signed with EU where it supposed to comply with CE Marking Directives at latest the year 2001 . So in the near future the requirement of CE Marking will be a necessity for those who intent to export products into Turkish market within that extent.
