The Packaging Waste Directive sets limits on the heavy metal content of
packaging including mercury. Your packaging must comply with at least one
method of recovery: burning, composting or recycling. That is now the law in
the EU.

Subject: Mercury content and Bio degradable packaging
Hello, Group:
I would appreciate any comments on the
following two issues:
1. Has the use/content of mercury been
banned substaince in EC? I know Denmark
has already implemented. Any other countries?
2. What countries has required for
bio-degradable packaging of products?
It would be very much helpful if anyone
can direct me to the source of information provided.
Thanks in advance.
