Dear Mr. Najafi In Germany 4B3T line coding is used whereas in most other countries 2B1Q is used. The network operators decide on the requirements for the network termination (please see ETSI doc ETR 80). Nevertheless the U interface is not a public ISDN interface in Europe. The basic rate interface is usualy the S/T reference point, for which we have European harmonised technical regulations, too (TBR 3).
