H I G H L I G H T ******************* INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY "IEC 60950 (1999-04) - Safety of information technology equipment" Applies to information technology equipment including electrical business equipment and associated equipment, with a rated voltage not exceeding 600 V. Specifies requirements intended to ensure safety for the operator and layman who may come into contact with the equipment and, where specifically stated, for service personnel. Supersedes IEC 60380 and 60435. Milton Cox, Secretary of TC 74, says the changes brought to this third edition are threefold. According to Cox, "safety requirements for products connected to telecommunication networks have been integrated into the main body of the document; the standard has also been rearranged to bring related subjects together making it more user-friendly; and finally, technical updates have been made to cover questions of use brought up by conformity assessment bodies." 531 pp. - CHF 265.00
