I have been on one of these courses and they are not bad (if a little "heavy" at times!) Regards John Allen cc: Laura Viscione, ERA FYI as a lot of people who subscribe to the US-based Regulatory Compliance Information Centre (RCIC - URL rcic.com) forums seem to be interested in this type of course. ---------- From: Bruce Hunter[SMTP:[email protected]] Sent: 09 April 1999 07:55 To: Florence Sandy-ESF003 Cc: 'emc-pstc' Subject: Re: IEC 61508 On Thu, 8 Apr 1999, Florence Sandy-ESF003 wrote: > Does anyone know of upcoming training seminars on EN 61508 > I'm not aware of any specific training on IEC61508. This standard, Functional Safety: Safety Related Systems, is usually covered by courses on Safety Critical Software. The University of Queensland is one organisation that conducts these in Australia. (http://svrc.it.uq.edu.au//Services/training.htm) I'm sure there must be similar courses in the US. One word of warning is that only parts 1, 3, 4 and 5 have been published; parts 2, 6 and 7 are expected to be formalised later this year. The Standards Australia IT/15-15 committee is currently working on a local guideline for the application if IEC61508. I hope this helps...
