Hello all, I was just reviewing my copy of the Conformity (TM) magazine in the standards update section. Apparently IEC 61000-3-2 is be circulated for voting and comment. On bothersome point in the article is that "The proposed amendment would add a new class of devices ... with input power exceeding 1 kW for single phase and 3 kW for 3-phase equipment".
I thought that IEC 61000-3-2 was for equipment with line currents <= 16A and IEC 61000-3-4 is for > 16 A. Am I missing something here? It seems that the -2 document is expanding to cover high power equipment as well. Is it possible to get a copy of the draft amendment and make comments? -doug ======================================= Douglas E. Powell, Compliance Engineer Advanced Energy Industries, Inc.
