Just for the record, I have been very pleased with the HP Kayak machine. The cover was very easy to remove by just flipping two levers, and even after numerous removals it remained reliable.
The gasketing was very good both around the cover and on the I/O panel. If degradation of the gasket were to occur, it is very easy to restore the fingers by simply pulling up on them a bit.
