Hello all

I've a question regarding the "fire enclosure" and the EN60065:1998.

Clause 2.8.11 defines the "potential fire source". I understand that such a
source is defined by two criterion :
        1 - The open voltage must be > 50V
and 2 - The apparent power in default condition must be > 15VA.

Clause 20.2.1 explains that potential fire source with open voltage greater
than 4KV must have a fire enclosure rated FV1.

I have a product (a little monitor with CRT) which is powered by a 13.5VDC,
1500mA external adaptor. I consider this one is not a "potential fire
source" because open voltage is < 50V.

The CRT high voltage is about 8.5KV with a current of no more 100µA. I
consider this is not a potential fire source because power is less than
15VA.

So, my conclusion is : I don't need to have a FV1 fire enclosure around the
product.

Do you share this technical analysis ?
If not, could you explain me what is missing in my analysis ?

I thank you very much in advance for all your valuable inputs.

Best regards,
