Fabian,
Yes it is done often. The advantage to you is the mfg. can't sell the NRTL
marked equipment to anyone but you until someone else does the same thing.
Disadvantage is you pay for the listing. If you can find a vendor that has a
NRTL listing for this equipment, it is usually more economical than paying for
the listing yourself.

Hello, Listmembers.

          We have a potential supplier of an OEM equipment that is not
NRTL listed. They suggested we have it listed (i. e. pay for the testing
ourselves) as part of  our system.  I am not aware of any case histories of
this nature.  Has anyone had this experience?  Can an NRTL issue a listing
for one company (buyer of product), yet audit another (the manufacturer)?  I
am skeptical of this suggestion.
