Dear Josh:

Presently these are not standards. They are guides and therefore have
no regulatory status within the European Union. Revisions are in
process which will make them standards. They are using the parallel
voting procedures. The changes are not expected to take effect for at
least 2 years. They have limits but allow non-compliance if the
customer contacts the Utilites and receives permission to connect.

Since you are in the high power range, another interesting emission
standard is 61000-3-11 on voltage fluctuations and flicker for </= 75
A. It overlaps 61000-3-2 and 3-4. It is out for a vote as an FDIS.

After January 2001 it is a very good idea to at least measure the
harmonics and flicker especially if the product is near 16A.

If you would like more information or if we can be of assistance, please
let me know. We have some very good insight into what is happening in
Europe through Combinova AB, Sweden www.combinova.se.

Best regards,

Eric George
