Personally, I've never fused anything right at it's
normal operating current. I derate fuses due to temp
variations and inrush. There's even a couple of people
right here on the list who have published some very
well written articles on the subject and I hope they
pipe up. About the derating part, I mean.
So, I guess what I'm saying is ... I don't understand
why the 6.3A fuse is "too large" for a nominal of 5.8A.
Maybe there's something about the circuit or the temps
or the inrush I don't understand.
Why is 6.3 too large for a catastrophic fault when
the nominal is 5.8A?
