Subject: ITE Requirements for Australia

Dear All,

1. For ITE (without a connection to a telecommunication network), what are
the applicable standards and requirements? I assume AS3260 (safety) and
AS3548 (emc) and the manufacturer applies the C-Tick Mark (ie for EMC
Compliance).

2. Is TS001 required or is this standard only used when an equipment is
connected to the telecom network.

3. What is the new RTM Mark for safety and emc? Does this replace the
C-Tick? Where can I download this mark?

4. What is a telecommunication network definition? Is X.25 a telecom
network? Is E1/T1 a telecom network? Where can I get the various interfaces
which are controlled?

5. Does the manufacturer make the declaration of compliance and applies the
mark or does the importer do it? I assume the manufacturer applies the mark
and the importer makes up the declaration.

6. When is the A-Tick Crossed Over Mark used?

Thanks,

Peter Merguerian
