Had to respond: We have had some success in our company educating our Engineers in some of the basic concepts Product safey. The major points of the most common standards they design to, at least as far as they pertain to our products.
They are at least aware of the issues enough (most of the time)to know when to ask questions. I have even had them catch me on an oversight every now and then. They don't know as much as I do about compliance (its not thier job), and they don't care to.
