Trevor, the new product specification must be applied by the "date of withdrawal (DOW)" that can be found in the new standard. The date is also posted on the CENELEC and ETSI web site - I don't know about CEN. However, keep in mind that the new product specification is not "harmonized" under most directives (this does not apply to the LVD, for example) until its reference is published in the OJ. That reference will include the official DOW which may differ from the one in the standard. Most often they are identical, but not always. In practice, you can rely upon the DOW in the new standard.
