Subject - EMF Personnel Safety Issues Relating to EMC Testing 

Speaker - Dave Baron, Holaday Industries

The Speaker will address aspects of electromagnetic field (EMF) environments
relating to workplace safety. Topics will include the biological basis for
controlling human exposure, typical measurement units and conversions used
in safety measurements, applicable standards, basic measurement procedures,
and application examples of EMF's and human perception. The presentation
will touch on frequencies from ELF (60 Hz) to RF/Microwave.
Dave Baron handles customer service, training, and consulting services for
Holaday Industries in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Holaday has been active in
the EMF health and safety field for more than 35 years. He is active in
technical and standards setting organizations including the IEEE ICES/SCC28
(International Committee on Electromagnetic Safety), the recently formed IEC
TC106/US TAG (Methods for the Assessment of Electric, Magnetic, and
Electromagnetic Fields Associated With Human Exposure), the American
Industrial Hygiene Association Non-Ionizing Radiation Committee, and the
International Microwave Power Institute. He is a member of the IEEE EMC,
Power Engineering, Engineering in Medicine and Biology, and Industrial
Applications Societies. Dave is a registered professional engineer in
Minnesota.

The joint meeting of the IEEE Central New England Chapter of the EMC Society
(CNEC, EMCS) and the Northeast Product Safety Society (NPSS) will be held on
Wednesday September 26,2001 at EMC Corporation, 42 South Street, Hopkinton
in the Corporate Auditorium Training Center Building. The technical
presentation will commence at 7PM,and refreshments will be available at
6PM.Directions: >From Rte. 495 North or South take exit 21b to South Street.
At first traffic light make left turn (Note: This is on South direction side
of Rte.495). EMC Corporation is at second driveway on right. For further
