There are some products (like ballasts) that you cannot sell in Europe
without the VDE Mark because all of your competitors have VDE and you would
be left out of the market if you did not have VDE.

To avoid problems like that, don't go to a German test-house.
Traditional German thoroughness can work to your disadvantage. However,
it appears that you may not have studied the safety standard carefully
enough; some of what they say can be proved or disproved by reading it.
