The opening paragraph of the Scope of 1010-1 states it covers "electrical equipment intended for professional, industrial process, and educational use, including equipment and computing devices for * measurement and test; * control; * laboratory use; * accessories intended for use with the above (eg. sample handling equipment)"
The basic intent here is industrial. 950 covers ITE, which I believe emphasizes home or office computing, printing, etc., equipment. Other opinions? I think that's the simple answer.
