This is the soda machine test. It enables frustrated consumers to freely bounce the machine without killing themselves. There was a news report several years ago about the macho army guy at Ft. Carson Army base who was killed by a filled pop machine when he didn't get his proper change. Seriously, stability refers to toppling of any equipment that is heavy or top-heavy and may become a crushing hazard if it falls over. Some standards refer to a topple test where you tilt the equipment a certain point and let go. The unit should not over-center when you initially tilt and it should not rock back over and fall in the other direction as well. This test is done on all four sides. Most of the time we opt out of this test by requiring that the end user anchor the equipment to the floor. -doug -----Original Message----- From: xingwb [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, December 14, 2001 12:15 AM To: [email protected] Subject: stability
