(people who have not already found the SCADplus database might well
like to spend a few minutes browsing - lots of useful stuff there).
I'm not a lawyer, and I haven't had much time to look at this, but I
do not believe that the directive requires all products to be
provided with a 24 month replacement or free repair commitment. It
appears to simply require sellers to take at least some
responsibility for products for a 24 month period after the final
sale, so they can't just wash their hands of it if it breaks. However
there's lots of weasel words for the lawyers to have fun with.
So far as I can see, there is no UK legislation based on this directive (yet?)
