[snip] In these egalitarian days, neither of the above is appropriate. In order to maximize and balance road usage, surely the sensible thing now would be to have 50% of vehicles (say those with odd numbers) drive on the left, and the other 50% on the right (even numbers). You could make it even more equal if the above was reversed each succeeding day. (Lower usage on Sundays would balance out over a two- week period.) Hope this suggestion will be seen as being as practical as the typical EU Directive - even if slightly OT!
