Certainly someone out there has devised a simple, lost cost method of extending the operating frequency of their signal generator by using some type of harmonic generating device such as a mixer or step recovery diode and filters. In one application, I need to extend a 1 GHz generator to 2 GHz and in another to 25 GHz (fat chance?). Any suggestions (other than buying new generators)?
