Look at clause 9.1.1.1 of EN60065:2002. Look at the second and third dashed items under a). These provisions were added at the bidding of US industry and are supported by UL! The appeal to the hazard of secondary injuries, such as dropping the equipment and, in the case of professional equipment, personnel falling from height or dropping objects from height on to other people, has been summarily rejected. It is likely that the UK will make further attempts to change these provisions, but it is astonishing that there is little support for the UK view that, apart from their presenting a significant hazard, there is NO reason to have such terminals accessible. -- Regards, John Woodgate, OOO - Own Opinions Only. http://www.jmwa.demon.co.uk Interested in professional sound reinforcement and distribution?
