Greetings, We evaluate our equipment to UL 3101-1, CSA 1010.0 and EN 61010-1. Our existing variable autotransformer adds up to 1mA of leakage current when performing the Current Test section of the Permissible Limits requirements(Sec. 6.3.2.2 allowing 3.5mA in single fault condition).
I have not contacted the various variac manufacturers yet (Staco, Powerstat, etc.). I prefer to get some real world information prior to listening to the manufacturers promises. Can anyone provide me with the manufacturer and model of a variac that they have used that does not add leakage to their product test results. This variac can either be 120V or 240V input with output of a minimum of 280V and an amp rating of 16A or more. Your comments are appreciated.
