The Law doesn't say that the importer's name must be written in Japanese, but importer's "official" name in Japan is usually Japanese - effectively, it would require the name to be written in Japanese. It is possible to use abbreviations or trademarks instead of the official name, but it would require permission from METI as required by the rule.
