All, Is NRTL marking a mandatory requirement to install a CMTS router in a cable head end in San Diego?
We have a 48 VDC powered CMTS router which needs to be installed in a cable operators head end in early May. Although the basic UL evaluation of the product has been completed without incident, marking authorization is not expected until late in May after the line filter vendor has approvals for the line filters. I have heard that a letter from UL or some other NRTL indicating that the product is under evaluation and listing the NRTL project number may be sufficient to install the product. If San Diego is a municipality that requires NRTL marking to install an ITE product, can a project notice letter or other procedure be used to allow early installation of the ITE product?
