Not really. All that's needed is to call the central office for the alarms telling them to put the system on "Test" for a certain length of time. The central office will ignore any and all alarms during that time. But past that time, they'll call the appropriate emergency crews. At least that's what's done here in the U.S. Don't know about elsewhere.
