Sam, Section 5 of EN61000-3-2 lists examples of the environments and a partial listing include houses, shops, offices, cinemas, bars, and workshops. An industrial device that is intended to be used in both an industrial location (i.e., not from the public distribution grid) and in a cinema, for example, would have to comply with EN61000-3-2. Products intended solely for industrial locations and not powered from the public distribution grid (i.e. the grid that powers the listed locations above) do not have to comply with this standard. Does public infer that only consumer goods that use residential service are obligated to these standards or are industrial products used in industrial locations that meet the electrical specifications as identified above also obligated to these standards?
