I thought I had taught my employers email to recognize postings from the forum and NOT send automatic replies in my absence on vacation. It seems not to have worked, my apologies to the board.
The European voltage thing reminds me of the joke in Monty Python Life Of Brian, the Peoples Front of Judea (not to be confused with the Judean Peoples Front, who are splitters) are debating: What have the Romans ever done for us? Well, there's roads, laws, water supplies, medicine....Yeah but apart from roads, laws water supply, medicine, what have the Romans ever done for us? Well what has the EU ever done for us? Single currency, single voltage (at least for domestic consumers), England joined to France ;-) Without these changes the countries of Europe would have been left far behind in the global economy. With them Europe has a fighting chance in competition with USA, Japan, S America, China etc. A Happy New Year to all the board. PS I do know the Chunnel is a private enterprise, poetic license claimed.
