Group, Sweden's Ordinance on Producer Responsibility for waste from electronic equipment has been in effect since July 1, 2001. The requirements are not the same as the upcoming European Union WEEE Directive. I have several questions for the group.
Why do you think the Swedish requirements have never been discussed on this forum? How is your company addressing the Swedish requirements? Will the Swedish requirements need to be updated to meet the WEEE Directive requirements? The Swedish requirements specifically list "Laboratory Equipment" as having to comply with their requirements. The WEEE Directive does not list laboratory equipment in it's scope. Will this discrepancy need to be clarified? Can individual member states have different requirements than the EU requirements? Do other member states have individual WEEE requirements at this time? All responses are appreciated. Regards Joe Martin Applied Biosystems [email protected] This message is from the IEEE EMC Society Product Safety Technical Committee emc-pstc discussion list.
