For anyone out there who has used Figure 2F and 2G of IEC 60950 (and variants)
to figure out the required insulation, I’ve created a Java applet on
www.creepage.com <http://www.creepage.com/> (great name huh?) to simplify the
task. I’ve also created 2 other applets that calculate clearance in primary
circuits, Table H, and Creepage, Table 2L.

The calculators provide the value in mm and mils. Interpolation is also
performed where accepted by the standard. It always drove me nuts trying to
figure out how to interpolate, so I finally wrote it down, then put it in
these programs. I also hated dividing everything by 25.4 so I put that in
there as well to get mils.

Please try them out and please send your comments directly to me at
[email protected] to minimize traffic to PSTC. If you have trouble running
them, please send me an email as well.

I hope you enjoy these programs; I plan on adding more functionality as time
permits.

Thank you and best regards,

Dave
