Dear Michael: The product you mentioned is NOT under CCC ! Only the Chargers for ITE, Audio/Vedio products are required for CCC. Your client's product is "Cell-Phone Charger" which is classified as Telecom Accessories. Under CCC Implementation Rules, this is not required for CCC. However, it is under the CVC category (China Voluntary Certification scheme) which is prepared to be announced as the 2nd category of CCC. Currently, there are three CVC Marks you can choose, CQC, CEMC, or CESI Mark. Either of them can be converted to CCC once the CVC product category is officially announced as the 2nd category of CCC products. That's the reason why your client got CQC certificate not CCC. So, to answer your question, your client's product "Cell Phone Charger" does not need CCC Mark but they can voluntarily apply for either CQC Mark, or CEMC Mark, or CESI Mark.
